H Enayet Construction didn't start with a business plan. It started with a hammer, a willingness to work hard, and a deep curiosity about how old buildings are put together. When our founder arrived in Brooklyn, he didn't see the city the way most people do. He saw its bones. The cornices, the limestone lintels, the hand-laid brick facades. Buildings that had been standing for over a century, telling their stories one course of mortar at a time.

Early on, he took whatever work came his way. General carpentry, painting, odd jobs. But the calls that kept coming back were always about masonry. A crumbling stoop on a Park Slope brownstone. Spalling brick on a Carroll Gardens rowhouse. A lintel that had shifted just enough to worry the owner. That's where he found his footing.

Over the next decade, masonry became more than a trade. It became a calling. He trained under craftsmen who still mixed their own mortars by hand, who understood that the wrong repair can do more damage than no repair at all, especially on a historic facade. That philosophy stuck. Do it right, or don't do it.
